MORE INFO
Coventry Comets is an inclusive wheelchair basketball club offering training and development opportunities to people of all ages, abilities, genders, ethnicities, and religions.

Our club is run entirely by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about creating a welcoming, supportive environment for everyone. While we primarily support individuals with physical disabilities, we actively encourage able-bodied players to get involved and integrate fully at all levels of the club.

At the heart of Coventry Comets is a commitment to personal growth and social connection. Through wheelchair basketball, we aim to build self-confidence, promote teamwork, and empower individuals both on and off the court.

Thanks to our ongoing outreach, we welcome new participants every month and regularly see over 30 players attending our sessions each evening.

Players, parents, and physiotherapists frequently report significant benefits from involvement in the club—including improved physical health, emotional wellbeing, and the development of life skills that support wider personal progression.

We welcome anyone aged 6 and above who is interested in trying wheelchair basketball. We provide access to equipment and experienced coaching staff focused on helping every player develop both their basketball skills and their confidence.

What truly sets Coventry Comets apart is our unique commitment to family inclusion. We encourage entire families to get involved—often seeing parents, siblings, and children all taking to the court together. This shared experience creates unforgettable moments of fun, bonding, and mutual growth.

We are a self-managed, self-funded club led by an active committee of volunteers. Whether you're looking to play, support, or volunteer, new members are always welcome at Coventry Comets.
